My name is Lauren Nelson and I am aspiring to play my favorite sport (volleyball) in college. When my mom first introduced the sport to me in the 6th grade I just fell in love with the game and so she signed me up to play on a club team. Little did I know that volleyball would be the sport to stick with me for the rest of my elementary, junior high and high school careers (7years). Giving up soccer and swimming were some of my personal sacrifices that I would have to give up in order to play volleyball year round and be able to manage getting all of my chores, homework and projects completed. After making those sacrifices including missing school dances, football games and birthday parties I have come to realize that it was all worth it to always stay committed and play my favorite game. Now that I am entering my senior year at Granite Bay High School I will sadly be playing my final high school and club season of volleyball; however, I am looking forward to moving on and striving to play volleyball at the collegiate level and hopefully for you. My goal has been to work hard enough to earn a volleyball scholarship to pay for college and to continue to play the sport that I love with teammates that want to play with as much heart and focus as I do.
