Coach closed practice to parents and friends from here on out..They can watch from across the street,but no longer on or near the practice field.FOCUS is the word.No distractions whatsoever!No friends, family or foe on the home turf.No mamas screaming,get 'em Jamal!!GOOD!Other DADE teams get a "freebie" jamboree game to start the season...NOT US--we kick it off in 2&half weeks against So.Miami--that one WILL count....It's already very serious at Killian....I'm on a mission,God willing& barring injury..to get my GPA core to 3.0 and overall GPA 3.7.Right now entering my senior year I carry a core 2.7 and ovrall GPA 3.4..Gotta stay FOCUSED and bring that English up bro'--I'm taking an extra English to raise my core--It's a challenge FOR ME, but hey a man's gotta do what a mans gotta do, right?Football practice is everything I thought it would be--HARD.But I came in shape from my Spring&summer combines,camps,&daily workouts--(My daily workout is just as tough--my Mom created the regimen,she's a coach too of Little league).I'm starting at SLB and this is it for me--make or break season.I'm gonna enjoy it all, win lose or draw--we ARE Killian Cougars!Stay FOCUSED!

It's HOT in South Florida folks!The good thing is our coach Smith delayed the start of practice---we start later than most schools in Dade--3pm-8:30pm--At least we don't practice (not yet anyway) at MIDNIGHT like Columbus---12mid-4am--then you sleep in da gym---go home at 9am--that's a little ridiculous for summer practice--you think??Everybody else in that heat 10 am-3pm!!!BRUTAL!
Anyway,I got my first write-up in FLORIDA FOOTBALL MAGAZINE this week as one of Dade County's Top 10 Linebackers---only problemo--they have me attending Doral Academy,not Killian.We(my family)made that switch months ago--The coach at Doral doesn't speak to me anymore!He probably really Hates me now!
Hey--I'm lookin' too good in that green&gold at Killian---Coach Rodriguez & Coach Dane are the best coaches I've EVER had..I'm learning so much--they keep throwing it at me too..I'm talking while my Mom types--I'm pooped.
The recruiting is picking up---Right now, HanoverCollege has been there from the beginning,corresponding..answering all my questions--even schedule me&Mom for official visit--Sept 12. Now here comes Waynesburg,OWU,Assumption,Lafayette,N.I.U, and Western Kentucky!I mean REAL letters, not the generic bulk we get as varsity playaz!My mom wants me at a small school where I can play & GRADUATE.It's NOT about the glitz..I got 2 buddies home now from DI--they were treated totally the opposite once they got on campus. |

| Man! Summer appears to be BLOWING by with a quickness--It's almost time to start banging heads...We will get eqpt Thursday,I'll get my NEW NUMBER as starting MLB! TO SAY THE LEAST, I'M PUMPED!!!Yesterday we had physicals,and continued work in the weightroom, where we'll be maxing ot for the next 3 days,then it's shoulder pads & helmet!Coach stays on us in the weight room.He's appointed me Sr.Capt--says I have terrific practice habits!THAT made me feel REAL good.Now everyone's following my lead...I learned it all from my Mom--a little league coach.It's routine,routine,routine--practice-practice-practice.We got our 2008 schedule yesterday, we open up Sept.4 against So.Mia.High.We really should win it all this year--and I ain't justa bumpin' my gums bro'! |

| Hey,looks like I'm getting some noise from Hanover College.I'm getting ready to schedule a recruiting visit for their September opening game.Gotta clear it first with coach.I also have a recruit visit on tap for Waynesburg University and ASSUMPTION College, who talked with me at the Lauren 1st&Goal camp in Tampa,Fl last month. Univ of Miami (Mr.Cory Bell AD) says they're bringing me in for visit in Sept also--but that's just a formality--I don't count that as a visit.They already have their Linebackers!!!I plan on taking all 5 of my visits before me,my mom&coach decide what's best.Right now summer practice is KICKIN' in this heat!!!--we're playing 7on7 tourny AGAIN this weekend..Last week we beat up on Christopher Columbus and safety Jamal Wildgoose ha ha--he's my bud.We made it to finals but lost last 4 seconds to Miramar High--QB EUGENE SMITH is the bomb!!Real deal baby! |

Whoa
what a week, uh Darryl? I went to USF June 8..2days rest..then DI-CAMP..for 3 days,,,,AND even checked in with Mr.Cory Bell A.D. at The Univ of Miami....Had coaches from N.I.U., F.I.U.,UCF,WesternKentucky(T-Rob)and some I can't remember talk with me and tell me they'll be contacting me in September.That's all good, but my highschool(KILLIAN) practice started yesterday--good thing we start evenings 6:00-8:30...You KNOW all that's gonna change in July&August.FEEL THE HEAT Y'ALL.Hey Darryl, I heard u showed out at Da U--what happened bro? |

| Whew! We made it back about an hour ago from Tampa,Fl to Miami.Had a great day at football "senior day camp" at the Univ of South Florida for Lauren's 1st & Goal Pediatric Foundation.All funds from the 1day camp went to help research for children with brain cancer.One of the coach's daughters'Lauren' was born with a brain tumor!There were about 350 participants---about 250 were actual seniors!I'm not braggin' or nothing, but I looked a LOT better than some of the athletes there tryin' to catch the coach's eyes.I had coaches from Lafayette talk to me as well as get this...HARVARD! My mom started laughing---I told her stranger things have happened.I didn't pass out any recruit dvd's but a lot of coaches wanted my email address.What's THAT about???Anyway,I met a lot of coaches and playaz--we all trying' to reach that next level. Now I get ready for the bigtime D1 CAMP at Miami Dolphins Facilities--3 nites at Nova Univ.Supposedly, coaches from EVERY Division Dl Dll Dlll NA1A will be there---we'll see.HOLLA |

Summer is Crucial.....to getting into football shape for August and getting my face and name out.I've hit the ground runnin' boyee!My regimen begins June 8,2008 at the Univ of South Fla--Lauren 1st&Goal camp for seniors.June will be filled with 4 camps!!! However 2 are only 1Day affairs.Then it's off to Davie,FL for a heavy duty D1 CAMP for 3 days(June 13,14,15)
--supposed to be LOTS of college coaches there running the drills and talking with players.This causes ,me to miss Da Univ of Miami camp(June 14,15,16)--the 1st time in 4 yrs!!!
I'm REALLY excited about the invite to THE Ohio State camp June 19,20,&21.I'm flying up with coach Thomas Matthews(Miami Edison coach&he's working the event) and my dog Darryl Williams WR/CB. Y'all should check him out too---that boy got skillz--just like me!
I'll finish June at OLE MISS senior 1Day camp..Then it's 2 a days at Killian---y'all know the drill...Boyeee no down time if you're a real balla!
By the way, I'm getting many contacts via BeRecruited.com.How u feel about that& what are U doing to up yo' game for da summer? |
