Well, after 4 years of High School soccer, it has come to an end!
It has been a career of highs and lows. The high was winning our Conference title as a sophomore surrounded by the experience of 11 seniors! I learned a lot about the game of high school soccer that year.
Unfortunately, the past two years have been rebuilding years for our team (we had 3 starting Seniors). This year's record of 4-11-1 was an improvement over last year's, even more than the numbers show, because we had another 3-4 games that were lost by a goal. As a senior captain, my hope is that I was able to help the underclassmen gain experience to be used next year.
I left my high school career on a high note with several post-season honors for the second year in a row.
1st Team All District (Youngstown) (2nd Team All District in 2008)
1st Team Trumbull County Large Schools (second year in a row)
Senior All Star game (to be played 11/8/09)
Offensive Team MVP
Team MVP (for the second year in a row)
Our All American Conference voting will take place in the next few weeks. I've had the chance to talk to come college coaches over the past month or so too, which is always an honor. Hopefully I'll get to play somewhere next year too.
Time to enjoy a short break and then it's time to meet up with the NAAS U19 club - looking forward to that. |
