Well we have only 2 games in district left to play which are both makeup games. Currently we are in 1st place. I am batting 631 and have had another great season with 6 homeruns, 15 doubles & 8 triples & 51 RBI's. We lost our main pitcher due to injury and he is out for the rest of the season. He is also a senior and had not signed with anyone yet I really miss him on the field he was a awesome lefty. I had total and complete confidence in him. Go Broncos win state again!

Well my high school playing days are over and I will really miss them.  Now it is off to the next level.  Basketball has be my passion but being 6'2 colleges don't really look at you & if they do they don't take you serious.  I have worked my whole life to play college basketball then in my junior year someone told me "Put down the big orange ball and pick up the small white ball that is where you will succeed"  I guess he was right.  Even though I could shoot the lights out & was almost 70% from the 3 point line and handle the ball well and was called a beast on the boards noone really look at me serious.  Then came the bat and baseball my other sport.  I have increased my batting average each season along with not striking out at all and I had several schools to choose from.  So, I guess listening paid off.  Never give up.  I was just blessed to have parents whom both played college ball & they helped me with my dreams and supported me and also gave me great advice.  My mom played college softball and my dad played college basketball.  So as a child I spent alot of my time following them around.  After college they both continued to play.  My mom played for Budweiser and my dad also played for Budweiser.  So I guess I really had no other choice but to love & play sports.  Never give up on your dreams and work hard to improve you craft....

Well we are now starting on the second half of district play and we remain undefeated.  THis year has gotten off to a great start for us as a team.  We all are hitting the ball well and have not had a team score on us yet as we have out scored our opponents 27-0.  I myself have been hitting the ball well again this year with several home runs and 12 RBIs for district along with no strikeouts.  I hope this continues for the rest of the season.  Our team this season consist of 4 seniors as a senior nothing would make me feel better than to win another state championship back to back for our team, community and our coach.  Go Broncos keep rolling!  I have posted the write up in today's local paper!  click on link to read!

Season Starting off Great!

Posted By: Austin Grant on 2008-03-05 22:01:15 ESTEmail Story  |  Flag As Spam  |  Comments (0)

Well, this season has started out great and I hope it continues.  We are now 6-0 beating some really tough teams from down south Louisiana that are 2A & 4A schools and one was the defending 3A State Champs last season.  Our pitcher has hurled 3 no hitters and in 1 other game only allowed (1) hit.  As a team we lost 2 prime starters at postions of 3rd & catcher and two great sticks.  We have alot of 8th & 9th graders that have really stepped up and I am proud of them.  Hopefully this will continue and maybe if it does we will draw some attention to get myself & our pitcher noticed by a college as we both really want to play at the next level.  It is really hard living in such a small rural community and going to such a small school to get anyone to look at you.  Most colleges think the bigger the school the most talent.  Well, I disagree... I've had some really great friends that came from small schools that went on to play @ LSU, Bossier, Southern Miss just to name a few - and they have been drafted in their freshman, sophmore & junior years of college.  We can play - we don't really have anything else to do but play sports & work.  That is we know where I live is sports, school & work....

We have so far gotten off to a good start this season winning our first two games.  Beating Pineville 4-3 and then Rosepine 1-0.  Our pitcher has been doing a excellent job.  He pitched a no-hitter against Rosepine.  I hope this season continues to be great as we are off to a great start.  I would love to win the championship two years in a row.
