The Newspaper read:
Five times Faith Academy had played Mobile rival St. Paul's coming into the Class 5A volleyball state championship on Thursday.
Five times defending class champion St. Paul's walked away the winner.
Not today.
In
only their second year of AHSAA play, the underdog Rams shocked the
Saints with a ferocious net game on the way to a 25-21, 27-29, 25-22,
25-12 victory.
"This time, they had the look of determination,
passion and confidence," said Faith coach Jessica Rapier, who also
guided the Rams to an AISA state title in 2007 "You could see it in
every one of their eyes."
After studying the previous matches -
"film, after film, after film, even during class, Rapier said," -- The
Rams (39-15) made changes to their attack.
We played our hearts out, never gave up, did our best, and came out on top!
~Thursday the paper read:

junior hitter Rebekah Reeves, who finished with 12 kills. "We told
ourselves to relax and we started playing with confidence."

goal is to knock the other teams out of their system from point one to
point 25," said Rams coach Jessica Rapier, whose 39-15 team will try to
stop the top-ranked Saints (39-12) from winning a fourth straight 5A
state title today.
St. Paul's topped No. 2 Hartselle 25-20, 25-13, 25-21 in the other semifinal.
