So, our team ended up 8-5 which was good enough for a play in game for districts. I got the swine flu 2 days before the game and couldn't play. Unfortunately, we lost. But, I still have next year to try again.
I'll post my stats as soon as I get them from my coach.
Thanks for looking!

Kennard-Dale earns road victory at Eastern York By RYAN DIXON For the Daily Record/Sunday News Posted: 10/08/2009 11:12:28 PM EDT
Eastern York girls' volleyball coach Carol Thompson never saw it coming. Her Golden Knights led visiting Kennard-Dale after three games of Thursday's best-of-five YAIAA match. But then Eastern collapsed in the final two games, and it was the Rams who picked up the 25-19, 22-25, 18-25, 25-9, 15-9 Division II victory. "I've never seen any of them as wild and as off-target," Thompson said of her team's performance down the stretch. A long night
Both teams had their respective chances to end the contest before it had to go the limit. Eastern York held a five-point lead midway through Game 1, before a 7-2 run put Kennard-Dale back in control of the game. The Rams held on for the win. In Game 3, the Rams battled back from an early four-point hole to take a lead as late as 13-11, only to see the Knights go on a 10-2 run to take a commanding advantage and eventually win the game. Turning point
After dropping Game 3, the Rams came out with a vengeance for Game 4, converting that games first 12 points. Sam Pierce set the pace for Kennard-Dale (5-1 Division II, 6-3), converting 13 straight service-line tries. The Rams led by as many as 15 points in that game and took that momentum into the decisive fifth game, where they led by as many as eight points in a 15-9 win. Quotes of the night "That's how we normally play. We changed some hitters around and just set ourselves up with great passes." - Rams head coach Stephanie Brown, on Game 4 "It was a complete 180-degree turnaround. There was just no rhythm in the entire match, it was back-and-forth, but it was sloppy on both sides. It seemed like all of our hitters went down all at once and Kennard-Dale was able to turn from defense right into offense." - Thompson, on Game 4 Stars of the game û The Rams were led by Pierce's 10 assists and five digs. Mariah Smith contributed 11 assists and 12 kills. Devon O'Kane finished with seven blocks and six kills. "O'Kane gives me goosebumps," Brown said of her first-year player. "She's coming along nicely and is really something to deal with." Alexis Rhein led Eastern (4-2, 6-3) with 14 assists, eight digs, nine kills and three aces. Lindsay Arnold added 12 assists, six digs and six kills. Morgan DeRemer finished with eight assists, nine blocks, 13 kills and an ace. Kennard-Dale - Mariah Smith (12 kills, 11 assists), Sam Pierce (10 assists, 5 digs, 1 ace), Kris Von Bank (10 digs), Devon O'Kane (7 blocks, 6 kills), Sara Tarbert (5 kills, 1 ace, 1 block), Jess Brown (4 kills, 2 aces, 1 assist), Kate Bream (4 digs), Brook Bean (3 digs, 2 kills), Margaret Nersten (1 ace). Eastern York - Abby Brate (15 digs, 3 assists, 2 kills), Alexis Rhein (14 assists, 9 kills, 8 digs, 3 aces), Kelci Scannapieco (13 kills, 11 blocks, 6 digs, 1 assist), Morgan DeRemer (12 kills, 9 blocks, 8 assists, 3 digs, 2 aces), Lindsay Arnold (12 assists, 6 kills, 6 digs, 2 blocks), Kirsten Myers (8 digs, 3 assists), Liz Myers (3 kills, 2 blocks, 1 assist), Mariah Arnold (2 digs, 1 assist), Tori Giandalia (1 assist). J.V. Score - Kennard-Dale def. Eastern York, 23-25, 25-20, 15-10. |
