Our team had a good tournament. We went 3-1. I had a slow outing with my pitching at the beginning from not playing for 6 weeks. I thought my hitting was good. I had 4 hits, struck out once and had a few walks. I thought my pitching started coming together from the game against the Southbend Fusion until the last game against the Indiana Blue which I received the game ball. I think I was pushing it since this was a new team that I just made and I was not pitching like myself.

| I am on a new travel softball team. They are the Illinois Outlaws. I will be one of three starting pitchers and will also be playing the OF as well. My new number is 1. I look forward to this new challenge as I get closer to my goal of playing College softball and earning a degree in education. |

Game times for Friday are 5 & 6:30 - Not sure if I am pitching this day, if not, I will be pitching on Saturday.
Saturday game times are 2 & 5.
Games are being played at the Green Valley Sports Complex in Moline.
On Friday we won two games. On Saturday we lost two games. Saturday I pitched the first game. It was 1-0(our favor) going into their bottom inning, five outs later they were up 4-1. In the top of our inning(last at bats) we were able to only scratch out 1 run. Final score 4-2.
In the second game of the day, I came in for relief to shutdown the team but, the damage was done and we lost that game. I don't remember the score. Due to rain over night and three fields being flooded, they sent home the 4&5 seeded teams leaving 1, 2 & 3 seeds left with an hour time limit for Sunday's games. This know ment, keeping errors to a minimal and scoring first.
I pitched the game on Sunday and neither of the two above mentioned happened. We committed three errors that resulted in three runs. We were able to come back and score two runs on them but, fell short resulting in us going home. That has pretty much been the story for us this year. As a result of our season, many girls felt that it would not be a good idea to go to Nationals. If we were to go, we would like to have finished in at least the top 10 but, without solid defense behind you and sporadic hitting all year, we knew this was not going to be the case.
There were many problems this year with this team and being very competitive as I am, felt that it was time to move on if this team did not improve from last year with basically the same players. The only big difference this year was that we were playing A ball. As a result from this years plat, I will be trying out for a new team coming this Fall which will be an 18U team which plays all A ball. I will keep you updated. Our first game is Friday at 12:30 at 900 Gross Pointe Blvd in Vernon Hills. If we win that game we play at 2:00 on Field 2, if we lose we play at 3:30 on the same field. See you there.
7/12 - Our first game due to a rain delay is at 1:00 at 900 Gross Pointe Blvd and Southfield in Vernon Hills. Because of the rain, games are single elimination.
What can I say, because of a tournament mixup, we found out when we arrived that we were not scheduled to play. If all goes good tomorrow and if the weather cooperates, we are scheduled to play at the same location tomorrow at 9am. I am scheduled to pitch
On this past Sunday, we won the Chicago Metro 16U B division championship. Our team played well to get to the finale round. We played the same team that we had lost against on Friday for the win. I pitched the game going 6/34 innings. Finale score was 5-4. It was a great team win.

The short on this tournament is that all 16U teams that were entered into this all will be receiving their money back. A previous rain out date for a mens softball league that play's at the same field get's precedence and the director of the tournament did not inform the teams of this. We did try to get into the 18U tournament held by the same director but, there were no open stops left.
This has been a vary disappointing year so far as tournaments go for us as we have had some bad luck as how these tournaments are turning out. Hopefully, the next two before nationals in Kansas will fair well for us. Hope to see all of you there in the next several weeks. |

Our team went two for two in pool play. I pitched the third game on Saturday which we won 9-0. I had 12 SO for this game. This puts us in the gold bracket. Our first game that we play is tomorrow at at 8:30 on field 8. I will be starting this game. Due to the weather, all games were postponed until 1:00pm. I did start striking out two and forcing a groudout to the shortstop to end their at bats but, we did not complete the first inning before it started raining again which cancelled the tournament.
Since the tornament was cancelled, they took the records of the teams pool play from Friday and Saturday and determined the winners from that. We won our class going 2-2.
