The Lady Mustangs played 8 games over a two day period and came out with a 2nd place showing.The first day we won 4 out of 5 loosing only to the outlaws from alabama.
Sunday we played 3 games and came out and won are 1st two then came up short in the championship 2-1.
For myself I hit 500 avg for the weekend(7-14,4-runs,3-rbis,1-steal,no strikeouts.)
Next week(5/30-6/1)will be in Chattanooga playing in the ASA memorial qualifier will post new blog w/new results after next week.

Weds May 5th was a good day for me one of my goals this year was to make the all-district team.
One thing that I continually learn is that hard work and dedication will pay off.

May 1st was the last day of Portlands softball season we lost to white house 4-2.I really thought we had a good chance of winning but errors done us in again.I had a coach tell me one time there's 3 basic things you have to do in softball and thats(catch,hit,and throw.)and if you do those things then usually you win.We didnt do that last night and we lost.
For me I will start travel ball in a couple weeks but for now I'll keep working out and get ready for new season.
Oh stats for last night-4 at bats 3 hits,1-single,2-doubles,1-rbi,no errors. |

It wasn't a good night for portland softball we lost 15 to 5.It seems like we were not ready to play and are game was off all night.
So the only thing we can do is put this behind us and be ready to play thursday in are league playoffs.
For me I had 3 at bats (1-walk,1-strike-out,1-double,1-run,2-rbi's,1-error.For results on league playoffs will blog friday.

It finally happened Portland beats Whitehouse what an awsome feeling!
Portland scores 4 in the 1st and 1 in the 5th off a hailey duke homerun.
Are team is starting to believe in themselves and thats what it takes to be a winner.If you don't believe in yourself you've already lost.
Tonight I went (1-3,1-single,fielders choice,flyout,steal,no errors)I didn't think I had a great game as far as hitting but I was steady in the field and it doesn't matter anyway when you Win!
Play Macon county monday there a very good team.But were up for the challenge.Will post results later. GO PANTHERS! |

April 22, 2008 was not a good day for Portland softball we lost to station camp in extra innings.Errors once again done us in. We had two outs in the 8th and Station camp pops up the ball in the infield and the infielder dropped the ball then the next batter gets a base hit and we loose.
I cant stand to loose I know everybody has to experience loosing but not like that!
Thursday is a new game so I have to put this game behind me and get ready for whitehouse.

Tueday the 15th of April we had DCA coming to town we were going for are second straight league win and are seventh win in a row over all.We started off on fire with five runs in the 1st and scored two in the seventh to beat back DCA 7-3.
I had three at bats and had 1-single and 2 hbp's.We play Goodpasture thursday the 17th of April.For updates on results of game check back later. |

We played in the Lady Cats Classic in Franklin KY last weekend- April 11& April 12.
Our first game on Friday April 11 we played Lawrence County in pool play. We won 7-2. I had no errors. I went 1 for 3 with one single, one RBI, and one walk.
My next game was against Baron County in are 2nd pool play game. I went 1 for 3 with a base hit. No errors and we won 5-2
On saturday April 12 we played Knox County in semi-finales I went 0-3 with 1 HBP and 2 Runs. We won 8-2.
The Next game we played was the championship game. We were down by 2 runs in the 4th and we had a girl on 2nd and I hit a HR. My 2nd at bat I got a base hit and an RBI. I had no errors and we won 3-2 against Baron County.(2-3,1-hr,1-single,3-rbi's,1-run,no errors)
All together i had a good tournament(but always can do better.)I hit the ball well, and I felt like I played good defense. I played really hard and so did my team, we never gave up and played with lots of passion and intensity, that was the key to our success. |

DCA
4-3
Last Night we played DCA. We lost 4-3, in the seventh inning they had bases loading and their 4th batter performed with a double.
As for me, I went 2 for 3, with a base hit and a homerun, 2 RBI's, and 2 Runs. I made no errors.
I think that the things that i could have done better last night are: Better Pitch Selection, and holding my weight back on the change up.
