 | Carrie Commits to Georgia State University |

After a long summer of traveling from Colorado to Kentucky, NC and SC, Carrie has committed to attend Georgia State University and p-lay for Coach Bob Heck beginning in the 2009-2010 year.
She will be following former Woodstock High School teammate and East Cobb program star to the Atlanta school. |

| My East Cobb Cobra teammates and I won the Georgia State ASA Championships (16U) in late June at Al Bishop Park in Marietta. We played well and remained in the winner's bracket the whole tournament. We played some tough games against the East Cobb Bullets and the Atlnta Vipers - we are sure to see them again at Nationals. |

| My East Cobb Cobra teammates and I will be heading to Owensboro, KY on July 27 for the 16U ASA Nationals. Most of the team stuck together to play another year of 16U rather than 18U so we could improve on our 13th place finish from last year and compete witht he tougher teams from California, Texas and Illinois. |

| My East Cobb Cobra teammates and I finished 2nd at the Colorado Foreworks 16U tournament in early July in Aurora, Colorado. We finished second to the Southern Cal Firecrackers and played well until the championship game. |

| Carrie & the Rast Cobb Cobras will be playing in a 1 day tournament at Lost Mountain park on Saturday 3/22. The Cobras will play the Roswell Orange Crush, the Georgia Xtreme and the West Cobb Blast. |

On Sunday March 2, along with my teammates, I particpated in the East Cobb Cobras Youth Instructional Clinic at Macedonia, GA. Elementary School.
This was the 4th camp in 3 years at which I have been an instructor - it is very satisfying to spend time with the young girls that love or are beginning to love softball as I do. It is fun to watch the excitement in their eyes as they learn new techniques and information that they find helps them to become better ballplayers.
I think the clinic helps me as well - to understand that there is always something to be learned about softball and that it takes work to be a better ballplayer. It also shows me that if I don't work hard, there are many girls behind me that would love some of the opportunities that I have.
I can see why coaching and teaching is such a great career and loved by those that do it. |
