Metro United Soccer Tournament

This past weekend tournament was a disaster!!  Most of the tournament was cancelled due to 5" of rain over the two days prior to the event.  Our U18 Premier event was still on, but it was confusing as to where we were to be playing and when.  I congratulate the tournament staff for keeping the fragmented tournament running amidst all the confusion.  They did a superb job of communincation and rescheduling as best possible.

Unfortunately, our team lost all three games and there was no championship round (good thing as we wouldn't have been in it). It's time to think warmer things now as we will be travelling to San Diego over Thanksgiving.

Mequon Tournament Champs

OUr club team has won this past weekends' tournament at Mequon Wisconsin.  The weather is starting to get quite cool (cold) here now.  I'm thinking forward to our upcoming tournaments in warmer climates.  At the end of October we are going to the Metro United tournament in Collinsville IL.  After that comes the real warm weather....San Diego Surf Cup and then the Disney showcase in Orlando.

Hope to see you there!!

Our KUFC Knockouts had a great weekend (Sep 26/27).  We made it to the final championship game, but lost 0-1.  Check out my profile for updated upcoming tournaments.  We're going to be busy!!

Palatine Celtic Cup Semi-Finals

It's been a long weekend.  The Palatine Celtic Cup Tournament started on Friday night and just finished today (four days)!  Our KUFC Premier Knockouts did well again, but unfortunately, we missed out on the final dance.  We made it to the semi finals but got beat today against a great team, FCX North Black, in a double overtime and then shootout contest.  I scored three goals over the weekend, but played today's entire game on defense.   It was great weekend anyways!

We learned this past week that our team has been accepted to the Disney Classic (12-31 through 1-3).  It will be a great break from our Wisconsin winter.  I'm looking forward to the high level of competition and the sun.

I'm going to visit University of Wisconsin-Parkside this week and then I'm off to visit Indiana Tech at the end of this month.  Decision time is getting closer!!!  That's it for now.

KUFC Back to School Tournament

The weather was better for this tournament.  I enjoyed playing this weekend with my Illinois U18 counterparts.  They're a great (and skillful) set of soccer players.

We did well, making it to the championship round, but losing in the second OT.  The championship game was marred with quick whistles, which took the intensity out of the game.  We couldn't get things rolling.  In the end, our goalie got red-carded (rightfully so) and we played down one person.  It was a good thing the game ended when it did and did not go to a shootout.  The game was getting out of control and players were at risk of getting hurt.  I've got a few large bruises that I'm nursing while getting ready for next weeks' tournament at Hartford WI.  The week after that, we'll be at Palatine, where I'll be playing with the Illinois girls again.  I can hardly wait!  I'll update soon.

KUFC Knockouts-NSR Finalist

It was a tough weekend at Saginaw.  Our team arrived with only 11 players.  The first day it rained miserably hard and cold, but we prevailed.  The next day it was hot and humid and our team was worn down, but not enough to diminish our spirits.  Having no subs, we went on to the quarter finals but lost in the end.  I can't say enough about my team who persevered through the elements and sucked it up and finished as strong as we did!

July 28, 2009

Well, what was intended to just be a skills polishing event has turned into a spur of the moment road trip for my 3v3 team.  As we dominated the Milwaukee event by earning the Championship title, my friends and I decided to travel to the Cedar Rapids Regional event.  The Regional event is scheduled for this weekend, August 1 and 2.  I'll update you on the results when we get back!

Marquette University Soccer Camp Experience

I just finished up a 3-day soccer camp at Marquette University in Milwaukee.  This was an intensive camp that focused on strength, agility, endurance and, most importantly...family.  This was a twist from most other camps I have attended.  Coach Marcus Roeders and his expert staff were with us constantly from morning till lights out and were always expressing the need to look out for each other in a family sort of way.  I think the most difficult event, but most fun, was the beach training in the sand at Bradford Beach on Lake Michigan.

I learned a lot at this camp and will be taking what I learned to the next level in my soccer and personal experiences.

Kick It 3v3 In Milwaukee, WI

I will be participating in the Kick It 3v3 Tournament, held at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee, on July 11 and 12.  Our KUFC Club team is going to enter at least three teams this year.  Although the team that I am on would love to win it, we're all basically entering just to polish up on our foot and movement skills in this small-sided tournament to prepare for our upcoming summer tournaments.  3v3 is always fun and extremely fast!  Hope to see you there.
