The ITM freshmen and Junior Varsity teams played extremely well last week.

The Freshman team tied the Center Point Pirates’ JV team 22 to 22 while the JV game ended at halftime in a 0 to 0 tie due to severe weather in the area.

Coaches Mark Bruton and Mark Belford guided the freshmen crew as Nick Schalla led as quarterback on the field.

Schalla made several great passes, drives and even an interception in the third quarter.

Scoring for the Warriors was Sergio Marquez with three long-distance runs. Blake Connell supported with outstanding defense and a two-point conversion. Schalla also handled a conversion as well.

During the JV’s shortened game against Natalia, Bradley Hansen and Weston Hall performed on the defensive side.

The game went toe-to-toe as neither side overpowered the other until lightning called it to a halt. Due to limited players on these two teams, both will be absorbed into the freshmen and varsity teams.
