The Lone Star Lacrosse Boom.

LaCrosse is quickly becoming that next big sport in Texas.  In an environment that produces some of the best athletes in the nation, LaCrosse has become the sport of choice by a lot of young men who, before, would have only considered football, basketball or baseball.  This is an exciting movement in the evolution of the game in my home state.
When I became involved with LaCrosse five years ago, the sport was little more than a novelty.  But as Texas athletes take a closer look, they are quickly drawn to the pace of the game, the skill required to compete at a high level, and the physicality of the players.  These are challenges that all true, committed athletes are drawn to.
I look foreward to the day when LaCrosse becomes a University Interscholastic League sanctioned sport in the Texas High Schools.  I look foreward to the day when more than just a few Texas Universities and Colleges offer LaCrosse as a scholarship sport.  I believe this will happen eventually, and when it does the sport of LaCrosse will witness some very competitive Texas teams joining ranks with the great teams in other parts of the country.  This Lone Star LaCrosse boom is yet another sign that the game that we are so passionate about, is alive, well, growing, and headed for a great future.
