Unofficial Visits

Now that the college soccer season is under way, it is time to start thinking about setting up those unofficial visit.

The unofficial visit is one of the most powerful self-marketing tools. It's a classic example of taking control of the recruiting process. Instead of waiting around for a coach to invite you to campus, you step up and say defiantly, "I'm really into this school. And I'm going to do whatever it takes to come visit."

Contact the Admission Office and find out when they are offering tours.  Contact the coach and see whether s/he is around during the tour. This is a good time to meet with the coach.

Come prepare with some questions, that relates to you and what you want from the college soccer experience.  When I meet with a recruit, I am not concern whether she can play or not.  I am more concern whether she has the right character for our program.  I also want to see how competitive she is.

A competitior is not only competitive on the soccer field but in other aspects of their lives.

From this visit, I will finalize my recruiting list.
