I was playing in the Team USA/Jr Olympics EAST Tournament this past week in Jupiter, FL. I arrived Friday, 6-19-09, and met my team for the first time. I was asked to be on this team for this tournament. I was excited about playing against some of the best players in the East, We heard that in the West Bryce Harper was playing and I was excited to see and face players of the same ability. In the first 4 games of my 7, I faced some of the best pitching I have seen. I'm happy to say that I held my own and was 6 for 13 for the week, with 1 walk and got hit 2 times by pitches and had 2 stolen bases. I faced a 17 year old in my second game that was throwing 94 with movement. I was able to get a solid hit up the middle and then steal second. In the 3rd game I had a HR over the LF fence. I had 2 solid outings pitching as well. I hope that I get this opportunity again next year to play in this tournament. I leave this Wednesday for The Beast Of The East tournament in West Virginia. I will be attending the 1 PM showcase. I will be playing for the CNY Thunder-Stars. |
