Summer League Update

With this being my last season to play Babe Ruth in front of the High School baseball coaches, things have heated up. I'm on a team with several JV players and I am holding my own very well by hitting fifth in the lineup and second in the pitching rotation.

Consistency at the plate needs to pickup for me this summer, but I am performing well when coaches are around which is good. I tend to overthink things at the plate, so my mindset for tomorrow night's game is to go up and just hit the ball. I am 5 - 12 with 10 RBI's this year. The guys ahead of me do a great job of getting on base for me.

On the mound I am 1 - 0 with an ERA of 1.12. I have threw 8.2 innings and have struck out 12 batters. My Slider is developing very well and my 12 - 6 ties up lefties all day. Against righties I leave it hanging every now and then, but that will fix itself as I get better with that pitch. My 2-Seam is also moving well and if I can throw all three pitches well I am near un-hittable.

So far we are 6 - 0 and have clinched the championship already with six games left to play. With the thought of winning it all out of my mind, I can focus on my performance more than anything and hopefully put up a big second half.
