My name is Lauren Dorsey-Spitz and I am from the small town of Pueblo, CO. I attend Pueblo Centennial High School and will be graduating this coming spring of 2009. I have grown up since around age 7 playing soccer and running cross-country and track competitively. These sports along with hard work in the classroom have been my life for the past 17 years. During my freshman and sophomore year I placed 2nd in the state of Colorado for cross-country, my high school team got to the semi-finals, and my club team was going strong in our first season in Elite. With a 4.0 and my athletic successes, everything seemed perfect going into my junior year, until I received news that I had a rare heart condition that somewhat hindered my fall season of cross-country. It was a really tough period in my life and I never thought my dream of playing collegiate soccer would ever come true. With the help of faith and some positive attitude, I am now completely healthy and finished my junior soccer season on second team all-state for colorado and am continueing my training into club season on the Pride Predators 91' Elite under Gary Evans. I know I am behind on the recruiting process for college soccer but it's a dream I won't give up on! Our team is planning to play in the Denver Cup this coming August as well as the State Cup and is still deliberating on further tournaments later on in the year. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
