I had a spectacular meet at Illinois Senior Championships. On Thursday, I kicked off the meet with a best time of 9:10 in the 800 Free dropping 28 seconds for 20th.
Then I slept in on Friday and swam the 400 IM with a best time of 4:53.2 dropping 7 seconds and qualifying for the "A" final in 4th. Then I swam it again adding .4 from the morning taking 6th place with an amazing backhalf of my race. Then I swam the 3rd leg of the 800 Free relay taking 6th.
Saturday, I swam the 200 IM dropping 3 seconds (2:17.6) taking 10th, but after scratches I advanced to the 8th position for the "A" final. Then I swam a 2:38.8 in the 200 Breast with a 6 second drop making the "B" final. Then after a few hours I swam the Breast leg of the 400 Medley relay splitting a 1:12.1 which could be like a 3 second drop, but it is not official, which that relay took 7th. Then I swam in the finals taking 8th in the 200 IM and 13th in the 200 Breast.
Sunday, I swam the 200 Back with a 1 second drop in 2 weeks (2:26.0) taking 35th. I swam a tiring 200 Fly in a 2:19 high about a second off my best time making the "C" final. Moments later, I swam on the 400 Free relay taking 11th. Finally at the very end of finals, I swam the 200 Fly in a 2:18.14 dropping .8 from last year winning the "C" final (17th).
Our boys team took 5th overall, and the team as a whole took 8th.
I will swim at the Mega Zones Championships at IUPUI August 6-10. |
