The "Olathe Rockets 16U-A" will be playing this weekend at the Heartland Showcase Classic in Blue Springs, MO. We have 2 games Friday evening at 7:30 and 9pm at Legacy Park (fields' 6 & 5). We will be facing the Oak Park Windmills and the Tulsa Eagles. Both should be challenging games! Bracket play will begin on Saturday at 12:30pm against the Attack on field 6 (Legacy Park).
I hope the rain holds off this weekend; it looks like a very nice tournament with a bunch of quality teams!

UPDATE: Our first two (practice) games were post phoned until Saturday morning on different fields.
The Tulsa Eagles seemed to have a "pitching arsenal". They rolled out a new pitcher every inning! My highlight of the game was my 2nd at bat against RHP Taylor Mills. With the bases loaded we battled to full count, then fouled off 3 more pitches until I got a solid base hit down the right field line, scoring 2 runners. Props to Taylor Mills because even though I had a 2 RBI at-bat against her, that was the only hit she gave up and she struck out all 3 outs against us.
Other Highlights: Almost the same senario against the Ks Renegades, runners on 2nd & 3rd, a battle for seveal pitches then I got a pitch to hit. A base hit over short stop's head into the outfield, scoring both runners.
Kelli White (our pitcher) had an ESPN moment on the mound. One of the batters that she faced hit a hard line drive back to the pitcher and Kelli reacted by ducking and putting her glove up and caught the ball!! Wow talk about lucky.. yes but it was the perfect reaction to Milliseconds’ of time to respond. Great job Kelli who also had a good weekend of pitching for us. Her stats were:
