I realize that skill and talent have a lot to do with the selection process that a recruiter uses to find talent for their team. I have seen my son progress in a way I never thought was possible. He lives and breathes football. Developing his skills on a daily basis, playing flag football on the weekends, start up games with his friends during the week and taking part in his teams workout sessions that have started months before the season begins.
The team he plays for is the Frederick County Christian Eagles. They are basically a home school team that competes with other Christian teams in Maryland and Virginia. College recruiters will obviously not see many of the great players that can emerge from this small community of players, unless the parents and coaches posture these players for colleges they may be interested in.
I plan on getting my son's skills noticed here by a recruiter from some colleges he is interested in attending.
Can you provide some ideas for getting that exposure? I have a women's soccer athlete graduating from a small town high school in 2009. She lives for soccer and plays year round on 3 teams. She has excellent potential and is a notable athlete and community supporter.
Our school has had excellent recruiting success for Football, because their head coach prepares the students and helps them with recruiting.
That is not the case with the women's soccer team....
