Cole is a very athletic lineman both side of the football. He is a little undersized for an offensive center but not for a defensive end. Displays quickness off the football as a defensive end; great anticipation and effort. Quick enough to beat the offensive lineman as a speed rusher or by knifing underneath. Uses hands to control offensive blocker; creates separation and can disengage with athleticism in pursuit of the ball carrier. Closes off the edge with agility and flattens down the line of scrimmage when offensive lineman blocks down. Takes excellent angles downfield if ball breaks contain. Sheds blockers to keep contain and can retrace if the ball carrier cuts inside. Instinctive defensive end that can read run or pass instantly. Demonstrates toughness and can stalemate the double team. As an offensive center, comes out of his stance with same quickness displayed on defense. Immediately gets into defender and uses hands to control opponent. Mobile center that gets to second level and downfield fast and with excellent body control. Even though a little undersized, fights to sustain blocks and win the individual battles. Solid pass protector that moves feet well and uses hands to keep defender off his body. Keeps weight down and maintains power lines as a pass protector. He is a very good offensive center but an exceptional defensive end.
