We are excited about the upcoming season here at Pitt-Greensburg. While our squad will be small (currently 16) we will be competitive and look to build on the second half of last season when the team finished strong and won a bid to the conference tournament. My goal in assuming the head coaching position here is to build upon that finish and move forward to where we will contend for conference titles and NCAA bids.
We only have one senior on next years squad, and with the small size of the team, a first year player with a strong work ethic and desire to succeed can be an impact player next year, and a foundation player for a growing program. As with many teams, we are looking for a goal keeper, as well as cover in the centre of defense. I teach a 1-4-3-3 play-making style that encourages individual creativity and team responsibility.
If you have yet to make a decision about where to attend school for 2008, please take a look at Pitt-Greensburg. We are a 4-year liberal arts campus of the University of Pittsburgh, one of the leading research universities in the country. Thus, we combine the small class sizes and collegial atmosphere of a traditional liberal arts school with the resources of a major university. We play D3 athletics and in the next year we will be adding a new fitness center.
And for players in class of 2009 and beyond -- keep an eye on us. We are excited about the future.
cheers
harry
