Yes, I know I'm a sophomore but I've been sending out alot of introductions to college coaches. I've recieved a ton of information and several questionaires and video requests. I just got a letter from the University of Utah about their camp. All of the camps and coaches I've spoken with tell me they are looking at three main things in a recruit, Character, Scholar, and Hustle. Well everyone tells me I'm a character lol :) but truly cahracter to me means integrity, ethics, honor, and loyalty. I'm taking as many college prep honors course and AP classes that I can and I have committed to myself and team mates to hustle on every play. My Dad explained to me that at the end of every football game there is a team that has won and a team that has lost but at the end of every play there are eleven players that have either won the down or lost it. He told me that I have to play and hustle every down in order to help win it. All of the recruiters I've spoken with at camps tell me to take as many advanced and honor classes that I can.
They say it does matter to them when they have several players with the same skill levels. So to everyone out there look at your academics and work to improve them to your best ability. |
