Two Baseball Players fromPembroke Pines Charter High SchoolSign with NSU 3-24 Moser & Anthonymesa (WinCE).jpgPictured L – R:  Pembroke Pines Charter High School Pitching Coach Andy Moser with Anthony Bondarenko; and in the dug out is Robert Mesa.  Pembroke Pines, FL…April 11, 2008….  Pembroke Pines Charter High School, 17189 Sheridan St, senior baseball players Robert Mesa and Anthony Bondarenko have received baseball scholarships from Nova Southeastern University.  The players will sign at 2:15am on Monday, April 14th at the High School surrounded by their teammates, Baseball Coach Carlos Iglesias, athletic director Craig Good, High School Principal Peter Bayer and their families. Senior Anthony Bondarenko plays right field and pitcher for the Jaguars.  He was awarded the Jaguars’ Coaches Award in 2007.  Senior Robert Mesa is the Jaguars’ catcher.  He was awarded the Jaguars’ Coaches Award in 2007 and was named to Sun Sentinel’s All Broward Second Team in 2007.  Both players have helped lead the Jaguars to their current 16-4 record this season. Robert is planning on majoring in Business/Sports Management and Anthony is majoring in Business.    Both young men have both played on the PPCH Varsity team for four years and are looking forward to continuing their baseball careers into college. “Robert and Anthony have been friends since they met as eight year old 3rd graders, at the brand new (1998) West Campus of the Pembroke Pines Charter School, fast forward they are graduating from PPCHS and now they’ll be attending the same university and both playing baseball!” said proud mom Liz Mesa. “Where did the time go?”  Tree City USA  The Pembroke Pines Charter School System was created and built by the City of Pembroke Pines and is home to four elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school housed on five educational campuses throughout the City. 

Students can begin their education in a Pembroke Pines Charter elementary school, study in a regional library, graduate from the high school and continue their education at either Broward Community College and/or Florida International University, also located on a Charter School Campus at the Academic Village.
