Fresh/soph boys track: Sterling and Bureau Valley tied with 111 points each at Thursday's Dillon meet at Westwood Sports Complex in Sterling. Oregon finished third at 102 followed by Amboy (49), Fulton (41), Stark County (41), Newman (41), Princeton (31), Erie-Prophetstown (29) and Riverdale (22).
Newman's Jake Trancoso set a meet record in the 3,200 run at 10:22.90. Trancoso also won the 1,600 run with a time of 4:51.00.
Bureau Valley's Adam Sanden set meet records in both the 200 dash (24.32) and the triple jump (40-08).
Sterling's Chris Knutsen set a meet record in the pole vault at 11 feet. Sterling's David Nelson won the 55 dash in 6.52 seconds.
Fresh/soph girls track: Erie-Prophetstown won the Dillon meet with 98 points just ahead of Sterling at 94. Bureau Valley finished third with 76 followed by Rivedale (66), Oregon (47), Newman (42), Fulton (37), Amboy (33), Princeton (31), Stark County (26) and Stockton-Warren (20).
Sterling's Sarah Schneiderbauer won both the long jump (15-00.5) and the triple jump (32-07.5). Carly Willman won the 400 dash in 1:03.69.
Oregon's Lynea Axelson won two events. She won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:33.20 and the 1,600 meter run with a time of 5:58.33.
Bureau Valley had two event winners in Aubrey Franklin in the 55 dash (7.58) and Melanie Thompson in the shot (38-04.5).
