GAINES.BROCK HAVE SOLID SEASONS

The Denton girls basketball team had a solid season this year and nearly made the playoffs, The Lady Broncos started out District 5-4A play winning three of its first four games and appeared to be in good position to make the playoffs.

The second half of the district season, however, proved costly for the Lady Broncos, as the team lost five of its final six games.

"We struggled a lot offensively," head coach Dennis Krishka, "We didn't play well in the second half of the district season."

Several played performed well this season for Denton, DaLissa Gaines led the team in rebounding with nearly nine boards per game. Gaines was also Denton's second leading scorer averaging 9,3 points per contest.
