So I guess I should say that my name is Katie l Drzewiecki. I have two older sisters, and my mom is a single parent. My dad, Terry Drzewiecki, left when I was three years old! But to mask what was happpening i went to my sisters softball games just barely able to talk and read, and I would pick up a ball and play catch with the older girls. I fell in love with the game so fast that i begged my mom to play, and I had fit after fit until the only thing she could do was get me on a boys tee ball league. I didn't care i was playing the game that I loved! I have been playing ever since! So if looking at the math, I have played 14 years of softball so far, that included 19 seasons. All my summer leagues until i was 13. Plus my double league years in Highschool were i would play on the school team, and during the summer play in Tags also on the school team. I have been on varsity for three year. I have pitched, played third, and batted in varsity games! One of my bigger acheivements was when my school held a tournament, and we had invited Calberny. Which they are an amazing team, first in their class, but we are an amazing team too. (Just hidden tallent because we are such a small school) But while playing Calberny we held them 3-4, until i was put in as a pinch hitter. Scared out of my mind, I got my helmet on and got a bat, my coach called time to talk to me. He told me "your an amazing hitter, and i know you can do this, this is why I've chosen you at this time! You need to know your one of the best hitters I've seen on our team in a while. Believe in yourself just as much as i do and go up there and DO YOUR JOB!" This was sophmore year when i was brought up for a tournament in the begging of the season. I got up to the plate and looked into the pitchers eyes and got up to the plate.  I let the first pitch go bye, it was a strike. The second pitch came and i swong and it flew over third base and into the out feild and kept going. once it hit the ground it was a foot from the fence and bounced for the touch of it! And it touched it! I had put in the tying run and got a triple out of it! I was so excited the team and the crowd was going wild. My coach put in a runner for me, and as soo as i got in the dugout everyone was slapping me on the back and picking me up and we were all so excited!
That game we ended up going two extra innings but they won bye one point in the end. After that game i was officially moved up to Varsity! And ever since i gained more self confedence because I hit the only triple off of the #1 teams pitcher! That is part of me and softball~
