I attend Woodcreek High School in Roseville, California where I am currently a sophomore.  Woodcreek High School is a public school with an accelerated academic program.  This means that a course taught in a semester is accelerated to equal a typical high school year.  Woodcreek High School has been selected to offer college prep classes to all of its students and prepare them for AP classes throughout their high school experience.  I am a very focused student athlete who has a primary goal of attending a university and graduating. Once I set my mind to something, I will do whatever it takes to accomplish my goals. I am a leader in the classroom as well as on the football field. I currently carry a 3.8 GPA/College Prep/AP and each year will strive to get better and better.  I have taken the PSAT on October 20, 2007, and my results are Reading 44, Math 44, Writing 41, Score 129.   I am currently taking the following courses this semester, Algebra II, AP European History, Honors Chemistry, P.E.  In the fall of 2008, I am scheduled to take an additional three AP courses. I am a disciplined student athlete with the emphasis on the student but when it comes to the athletic part I’m told that is when it comes natural. My coaches say that I am a coachable, talented individual with great work ethics. I am also well liked on and off the field. Although my primary goal is a great education, I would love the chance to play football at the next level while earning a degree in whatever major I pick.  I am very interested in.

How I am seen by others (parents, prior coaches):Alex is a very coachable and tenacious player.  He employs a strong understanding of the game and exemplifies this in his play on the field.  Alex is a team player and a leader whether he is on the field or off.  Alex is very focused on his academic standards and what is needed to succeed.  Alex is somewhat of a throwback as he plays with reckless abandonment.  Ayers plays the game with a lot of passion. He is smart, physical and tough and has solid overall instincts. He makes quick, accurate decisions.  Alex was the cause of a lot of controversy between the coaching staff as to where to play him.  The Offensive Coordinator wanted him to always play Running Back while the Defensive Coordinator wanted him to always play Strong Safety because of his athletic ability.  Alex handled this controversy extremely well and told the coaching staff he would do what was best for his team.  This led to him being used as a role player on both offense and defense.  The position he took was both mature and added to his team’s success.  In his spare time Alex helped to coach youth football (8-10 year olds) and his success can be seen in his team’s undefeated season.  His young players always look to Alex not only as a coach but as a mentor. Defensive BackAlex is a very good defensive back with tremendous closing speed and plays very well up along the line both in press coverage and making tackles.  He is outstanding in his lateral pursuit.  Alex may not be the fastest in his timed sprints but he covers a lot of ground in game situations. He is a ferocious hitter that is dynamite in run support. He is quick, decisive and explosive when attacking the ball carrier.  Fast hips, great awareness and presence on the field.  He maintains good leverage in coverage and has good range in zone coverage.  He takes good angles in run support and shows excellent closing speed and fundamentals when it comes to tackling, especially in the open field. He does a nice job of reading the quarterback's eyes and breaking on the ball in coverage. Alex always seems to be around the ball when he is playing Safety.  In many game the opposing team would key on Alex and run or throw away from him. Running Back/ReceiverAlex has good speed and quickness. He looks like he is a better outside runner than inside but that is deceiving, he is very explosive off the snap and is physical enough to beat a jam in the middle. He has good balance, instincts and vision. In the open field he shows shiftiness and good change of direction.  Alex was often put in the game because of his blocking ability.  No matter how big or fast the opposition was we could always count on Alex to make the block.  Although we didn’t throw the ball to him much Alex is also a very good receiver, showing the ability to make the big catch in traffic.
