Last year I went to the State swim meet as a Sophomore. I was a Regional finalist, but not a State qualifier. I decided to set a goal: to swim at State my Junior year. I used my goals to persevere through hard workouts throughout the whole season. The journey wasn't easy as I battled through injury, fatigue, and a bout with the flu. But my hard work has paid off - I will be swimming among the 4A greats this weekend in Austin at the State swim meet. I am a Regional medalist and State qualifier in the 100 yd freestyle, and the 200 and 400 yd freestyle relays. With a chance for our school's fourth state flag, I am honored and privileged to be a part of the Lamar Boys Swim Team.
