The Year

Well high school went a lot better than I thought. I was selected co-captain of the varsity squad along with my twin. I only sat out 10 mintues of the whole season, because we were beating liberal bad. I had a right-footed goal in the 31st second of our league game vs. East. I was proud because I am trying to work on that foot so I can use both. I had another goal and an assist that night. My picture was in the paper the next day. The season went pretty smoothly, losses here and there but hey, we were a team of sophomores, freshmen, and 1 senior. Our regional games were awesome. The East game we had to go to overtime, I had both assists in our 2-1 victory. Our next matchup was against Maize and I was excited because we get another chance against them. We ending up losing 2-1 which is pretty awesome because last time we lost 7-2. I had the assist on our goal. I had a chance to tie but the shot went over the cross bar. I am working on getting over the ball now.
Our club season started with the Air Capital Invitational. We took 1st and only had 2 goal scored on us the whole tournament. Later that summer we went up to KC for the KC Legends Showcase Tournament. The tied 2 and won 1. The two ties came against state ranked teams. The first was ranked 2nd in missouri and the 2nd team as ranked 2nd in kansas.
Our next tournament was in Olathe, the Midwest Girls Invitational. We took 2nd place. We ran all over those KC teams but we just couldn't finish when needed to in the final. 1-1, 6-2, and 3-0 were the pool play scores, 2-1 was the finals score.
Sadly for me, that was my last tournament of the year. Our next tournament was in October so league kept us busy. We took second to a really good older team. Our season ended in September and our next tournament was in October. Three weeks into October I catch a virus and the doctor said I couldn't play. Our team ended up taking first.
Our next tournament was in Tulsa, OK, so I thought it better to rest than to chance getting worse. Especially because it was a showcase. But sadly, I would miss that too. Two weeks after the virus I started feeling bad again. I went back to the doctor and tested positive for mono.
It's mid December now. I was able to start lifting weights again after Thanksgiving break. And can start playing soccer after Christmas break. So soccer conditioning should be interesting I hope I am not too out of shape.
