A.C.L. Surgery Went Well

My ACL reconstruction surgery went well.  I had completely torn my ACL, which we knew, but during surgery they discovered I had also torn 75% of my meniscus.  The Dr. used my own bone for the reconstruction.  So, for the next 21 days I have to put my leg in a contraption that moves my leg in a certain angle.  I have to do this for 8 hours a day-not all at once.  But now I have to be on crutches for 6 weeks instead of 3.  The long term healing is the same-around 4-5 months and I will be as good as new.  I'm thankful for the awesome season I had-in spite of my injuries.  I ended up ranked #1 in league game sacks, 1st Team All Conference & 2nd Team All District.  I wonder what I could have done w/o the injuries-time to elevate and go to bed.

Thanks for the concern
Jacob

Hang in there. I suffered the same injury in 8/07. The brace gets to be a real drag but I got out of mine 3 weeks early. Hopefully you will fair as well as I did. Good luck.
